Scientists believe its unique characteristics, including its large core and heavily cratered surface, may be the result of a massive collision in the early solar system.
Mercury is one of the five classical planets visible to the naked eye, and its name reflects its swift and fleeting movements in the sky, according to the Natural History Museum and Space.

Introduction to Explanation Writing

We are learning about explanation writing and how to structure our ideas using the TIIC and SEE frameworks. An explanation text is a type of writing that tells us how or why something happens. It provides clear information, logical sequencing, and detailed examples to help the reader understand a process or concept.

Today, we explored what makes a good explanation and practised identifying key features in a model text. We worked on a highlighting task to find the Title, Introduction, Information, and Conclusion, as well as the Statement, Explanation, and Example in each paragraph.

Next, we’ll use this knowledge to write our own explanation texts!
